If you don't, you're also failing to leave a record of the challenges and misogynistic push back for the next group of women to attempt to crash through barriers.

There's too ways to look at Hillary's book. You can see it as playing to victim mentality or you can see it as a record of how entrenched power structures and bad actors will come at you to prevent you from succeeding. This also educated the broader public so that they can block these attempts when and where they can, be more aware and savvy of them, and not fall for their bullshit next time.

After all, it will be our daughters who next try to break through gender barriers. Why wouldn't we want to help them?

Personal accountability is great. I'm all for it. Hell, I'm all for radical personal accountability, like a Seal kind of accountability.

But I don't live on an island. Personal accountability can only take us so far. There's group accountability, system accountability, and societal accountability too. Those are equally important.

And even then, sometimes due to events and conditions beyond anyone's ken or control or best laid plans and preparations, sometimes things just go FUBAR.

Leaving a record is important for those who follow.

Yeah, this essay was a miss for me as well too, Red. I agree with your comment and point.
