If I get reported, I will contest it. I recognize it’s a possibility but I was very clear, did not disparage her as a person or her work, but only to dissent the opinion. I was not snarky, sarcastic, threatening, or mean. Also sometimes the naughty step is worth it to keep certain things in check.
People are allowed their opinions and free speech/free press means they are allowed to voice them. But no one else is required to agree with them and are allowed, via that same mechanism of free speech and free press, to dissent. Otherwise, free speech is both a farce and meaningless.
I was teasing you a little bit about Ossiana blocking you in another comment. She’s usually pretty good with critical dissent. I’ve disagree with her many many times and agreed with her, at least in part, many many more. She’s another writer who has excellent flow. I reckon she does listicle type articles better than just about anyone I’ve seen. She was trafficked, suicidal, and is a recovering addict so she blocks a lot. She’s one I handle with kid gloves too. She doesn’t have Rivka’s rage, she’s just ... obviously wounded.
And yes, I too hope they and the others get healing out of their writing process. It’s one of the reasons I don’t go after them as hard as I do a lot of aggrieved men. For the men, their hard times are mostly in their head or they completely did it all to themselves. Not always but often. Some of these women have really been through some tough shit. I handle a fair share of men with kid gloves as well.
Anyways thanks for reading and commenting. Good thoughts. I agree. I’m glad you enjoyed it because you’re up on deck next. And since this dissent is also more "professional", I’m aiming for a clean fight so sharpen your beak and warm up your flippers. ;-)
