If he's like most men, he's worried about their safety and suddenly aware of what's out there.

But.

He doesn't see how he was part of an attack it's aftermath, and/or the normalizing and victim shaming of sexual violence.

Because HE would never rape a woman and HE'S never seen Cody behave inappropriately. There were jokes, sure, but jokes are just jokes. Cody's a good guy. A friend. A friend wouldn't do that but women lie all the time.

That's probably as far as he can go with real awareness and empathy.

But maybe not. Maybe he'll be that rare guy to make that leap. Maybe June isn't the only girlfriend of his that Cody has "cheated" with. If so, at some point, you've got to start doing some math thinking there.
