I'd say it's more or less accurate and that it's pretty much always been that way. Women are not strangers to depression.
I remember reading an article back when I was around 20 that said around 70% of middle aged women were either on antidepressants or were self medicating with an addiction.
We all know about "mom juice", don't we?
Nope, we are no strangers to depression. It's pretty much a constant companion from the moments you start to become aware of your objectification. And how men really think of you. And how much harder you'll have to work for scraps. And how once you make it, the goal posts will shift and you wont be enough again. Or too much. And then there's the isolation of motherhood. The second shift. Your lackluster husband killing your libido dead, which is also some kind of failire and inadequacy on your part as a malfunctioning blow up sex doll.
You know how women always complain about how they're so tired? That's because so many are constantly low or mid grade depressed.
None of this is new or news.
That fact won't make it a "crisis" for us though. That sort of compassion and understanding is only ever reserved for men.
