I type around 65 to 80 words a minute, depending. So that’s not it for me. I can type pretty much as fast as I think or at the speed of natural speech for most people.
I can also spin a yarn. I’m southern. It’s in the blood. We can all pretty much talk the hind legs off a mule given the slightest bit of encouragement or alcohol. Our only equivalent might be Minnesotans. If you ever get the chance to listen to a Minnesota story time you should. It’s an experience you’ll not regret. They’re great people up there in Minnesota.
I do seem to have a disconnect between physically telling a story and writing one. It makes no sense; seems like it should come more naturally. But maybe it’s like a water colorist getting frustrated with working with oils. The paints don’t push the same and you have to use different materials.
Urchling gives me the side eye about it and threatens me with "newspapers" too. But then, she won’t work with paint at all. So there we have it.
