I too am overwhelmed with grief and sadness. But I’m not crying. Why? Because I choose to celebrate her life by giving thanks for how her work gave me opportunities I wouldn’t otherwise have had and honor her memory by protecting her legacy for our daughters.
It’s time to get tough — channel whatever intractable stubbornness we have and hold the line. Send the message loud and strong. We’re not going back to the way things were. Not ever.
So get ready to start holding your senators’ feet to the fire and hold them to their own procedural precident. The seat will be filled by the next President, not the current one, and not a lame duck.
