I thought about that. But, it was her unscrupulous father that abused it, not the conservatorship itself. They exist for a reason and have done a lot of good for people who need them.

Plus, I don't see a reason why a judge couldn't limit it's scope and duration when instituting it to prevent abuse. It could.be limited to the duration of their court ordered therapy, for example.

Then against maybe I don't have a full understanding of how they work. I've only ever heard about them, I've never been under one and I'm not a lawyer or in the mental health profession.

Your opinion here is just as valid as mine. I just think they've both shown they need some tough love. But then, I think most wealthy/blue bloods are so far removed from the rest of us that they pretty much all nee to be knocked down a peg or two. Maybe that's why I'm not a judge.
