I thInk youse missing a salient point. If people.cared so dan much about their wallets, wby didn't they take the time to learn how the economy works. Why didn't they bother to look up some data on that. Why didnt they bother to make an informed decision before the election?

Trump voters who were supposedly undecided bitched and moaned that they didn't know who Kamala was or what her policies were but they also voted for Trump without knowing about his policy plans, Project 2025. They didn't bother to find out about that until after they voted.

People who really cate about the price of eggs find egg sustitutes for their favorite recipes, waya to stretch them out, they self ration, they don't waste them when they do have them, they look for alternative sources, they start raising chickens or ducks, they look into the industry and regulations and find out why the price is so high, they attend local council meetings to address the issue, they start cooperatives, they boycott if that will help, they vote locally, state wide, and nationally to combat price gouging or whatever the problem is. And that's just off the top of my head.

The point is, people who truly care about things act like they do. An ignorant, uninformed, schizophrenic, illogical voting ballot is not an example of caring about the price of eggs.

What it is an example of, is apathy or maybe fatigue in the best light, or in the worst lighthing, it's self centeredness. It's probably a mix, most things in life are when it comes down to it.

In the end, if you look at the whole vote, and not just Trump, the vote was highly irrational anf makes no logical sense unless you consider that they voted for a personaity they wanted as a figurehead for the nation.

It's becoming clearer in the aftermath that most people did not know what they were voting for. They don't understand how things work and they are so propagandized, they refuse to listen to those who do or go find out themselves.

Case and point. Some of my coworkers voted for Trump because, "he'll get things done. Biden/Harris have had 4 years to fiX the border."

First off, so did Trump. HIs plan to buukd a big beautiful wall aND make Mexico pay for it didn't work the first time and it wasn't because of Democrats, it's because yiu can't just bill another country for your own infrastructure. What's changed?

Secondly, lack of reproductive healthcare no longer affects her so she didnt vote for other women to have what she had when she needed it. She also didnt go look into Project 2025 the week of the election when she first heard of it.

But now she's shocked that she might be negatively impacted. She's a vetetan. And thr VA is on the chopping block right aongside the Dept of Education. Her whole identity is centered around being a veteran. We for for a company who has one customer: the VA.

So she absolutely voted against her own best interests on everythIng that matters most to her: her job, her healthcare, the vetetan community which locally is her social circle, the community programs and assistance handled by the VA....all of it, because she couldn't be bothered to make an informed vote and nobody else who was informed about certain issues that impacted them more and were being vocal about it and informing their family and friends mattered enough to her ro vote for them, if she didn't have pressing concerns of her own enough to kickstart some action on her part.

She voted for that personality instead.

And now, like so many others, shea fI ding out she now suddenly DOES have some pressing concerns she wouldn't have had if she would have acted like she actually did care about the price of eggs to start off with.

Just saying.
