I think you're right about generational trauma, left over from Roman Times (Europe and UK).
I think it's important because it seems or feels like we may be facing those choices again. Soon.
When Rome collapsed, what was left of the cultures Rome destroyed and incorporated, decided to emulate Rome rather than try to return to what had been lost to them. Pre-Roman European civilizations were vibrant, healthy, and whole. What they became, was not.
When western civilization collapses, we're going to have to choose, again, who we want to become. I hope we all choose better. This time, the incorporated cultures now in North America will have to be a part of that choice (at least for our land mass). I hope they do better than my ancestors did.
