I saw it a lot during my early single mother days. Men would constantly hit on me and other moms I hung out with. They were really pushy. Almost anyone who dated one of these guys would end up pregnant in a manner of months. Most were on birth control. It’s not statistically feasible that birth control failures were so prevalent and clustered.

Many of the women were on welfare or some sort of public assistance. Job opportunities were down, so that’s what the men were after. There is no safety net or help for them.

This is one of the ways they stay housed. At least until they find a more favorable position. Then they abandon her and the child they created to the next guy, who’s likely just as desperate.
