I read that article and it did very remind me of OJ Simpson's trial. "If the gloves (which were replicas, not actual evidence) don't fit, you must acquit!". It was a hot mess of aggrevance.

I found it strange that so many men were so quick to jump on the Beard is the real abuser bandwagon. They didn't have to believe her without evidence, etc., but as far as him being violent and it being possible....
At the time of their libel trial, he had another one pending in which he came to set high, punched a crew member in the gut over something trivial, and then offered to pay one of his personal lackeys a large sum of money to give the guy a beat down after he got pulled off him. He's clearly unhinged and a mean 'drunk'. So the idea that it's not even possible is just wild.
