I live in Arizona. Same thing in some parts of town, others have rock yards.

This one guy I see on my daily dog walks has a nice rock yard but he scatters wildflower seeds a few times a year. It’s beautiful, and they’re well chosen ones that don’t require watering past the initial dousing once he’s seeded the yard.
