Huh. I specifically chose “so many men" rather than simply “men" in an attempt not to stereotype or suggest that there wasn’t some universal thing attached to the Y chromosome.

I’m surprised that it still landed that way, because 'many' is still subjective but is definitely narrowing away from universal. It denotes widespread, so more than a few or a subgrouping but not necessarily even a majority. ‘Many’ could well be considered less than half. Common, but not rare or expected.
