I haven't been encouraged in life to do advocate for myself at performance review time and ask for a raise.

But I'm an adult now and it's something I need. There's nothing in the world stopping me from gaining that skillset and practicing. I don't get to have some guy come hold my hand through the process either.

That's on me. It's called adulting.
