I hate to use this phrase because it’s an insult to dogs …. but,

When you lay down with dogs you wake up with fleas.

I disagree though, that Trump corrupted them. Trump is corrupt, no doubt, but it was the evangelicals who chased after and courted Trump, not the other way around. If they were not ALREADY corrupt, they wouldn’t have whored their faith out so quickly and easily. Or to someone who was obviously just going to scam them in the end.

Just saying.
