I get what you’re saying, I just recognize that’s it’s missing some elements. Again, because no group is a monolith. And prejudice is a universal human condition. We can become so aggrieved by the prejudices against us, we can’t see the prejudices we ourselves have, or from another group toward the one we have a grievance with.
You’re assuming the white woman tropes are new. As a white woman, I can tell you they are not. I would argue they’ve been around a while. There are new iterations of it, the names and slanders change somewhat over time but in the end we’re all judged by the stereotypes other demographics see us as. That’s true for white women as well. We all have the desire to grow beyond our stereotypes.
In the end, we’re all a little too quick to judge without walking that mile in someone else’s shoes. It’s easy to look at someone else’s life and be envious. The grass is always greener, right? But if the grass has been sprayed with poisonous herbicides, how much better is it actually? You might be surprised to hear that many white women look at the lives of WOC with some envy. We want some of the things you have that we don’t too.
