I get what you’re saying and you’ve got a point. The violence needs to end and everyone needs to be held to the same standard.

The thing that gets me though is that most people are not put under the scrutiny and stress the Smith family has. People, including Chris Rock, are making money off of criticizing, scorning, and publicly humiliating this family.

This has been going on for years.

Does being a celebrity make it okay?

Exactly how much is someone supposed to take before they snap?

Why does finally cracking in one instance after years of an unrelenting campaign by certain individuals to tear you down FOR MONEY make you a villain undeserving of grace or redemption?

Why does one bad decision make you a demon and erase ALL the previous times you didn’t Los your cool?

Basically, everyone is now hating on Will Smith for finally responding to the violence (though non physical) that has been leveled at his family by all of us. We’ve all participated in it, with our celebrity obsession, and allowed bullies, er comedians and snarky talking head personalities with a platform and an ax to grind, to profit.

We’re responding to violence with yet more violence.

Wonder how much money will be made this round?
