I generally like Solnit's work and consider her incredibly insightful and usually she has a clear and generous humor regarding human perception and frailties.

So, you can imagine my disappointment with that article. It's poorly researched, doesn't seek to understand, only to mock, callous.and frankly irresponsible.

I can't get over the shock that she would write such a piece.
