I generally go with the dictionary rather than having the hubris to just make up my own definitions. It really annoys me when folks do this. Nails on a chalkboard levels of annoying.

So. Manhood refers to the collective of men, the state of male sexual maturity, or the human qualities we all have but that are generally associated with men and more heavily cultivated via socialization in men and discouraged in women.

That 3rd def of manhood is basically the same as masculinity. Masculinity is also the state of being or exhibiting the masculine.

I generally find discussions of a "good man" or a "good woman" to be pointless reductive. Good how? Good according to whom? 'Good' is too arbitrary a word outside of any context. Morality is not attached to or a function of gener either. We all get drawn into these conversations because of the overuse of the word and ubiquitous longing to find a mate or figure out how to relate better though, myself included, so no hate there. That's not an attack or a deflection, it's an observation and an admission that I can't do anything useful with that.

Many of the Nordic countries, China, South Korea, Canada, Argentina. I'm sure there are others, it's not like I went looking for that info...I never thought about it before it dropped in my lap reading or talking with someone about something else and it came up. Growing up here in the US where television got it's start as an industry, you don't realize how heavily we are subjected by marketing propaganda or how hard it is to get certain things banned because they're harmful or lead people to self harm in various ways.

I've been watching old movies with Urchling and she was shocked to find out that cigarette and alcohol commercials were common when I was growing up. She hadn't realized those things had ever been advertised at all.

I can't tell you off the top of my head what all the restrictions on advertisong around the world are compared to the US. And certainly, in many the language may be centered around women and children even though they protect men too. But it shouldn't be too hard to look up.
