I dont think that's true, certainly not in an entirety. You kind of subconsciously weigh percentages, or where you are under the bell curve for each one individually.

We are mosaics, as beings. 3D personages. Most people intrinsically understand this, I think.

But, we do get propagandized and, shall we say, pulled away from that intrinsic knowledge by the forces and dynamics of civilization.
