I don't read Umair Haque regularly but Jessica Wildfire has made no such claim. I do read her regularly.
Again, all species have a lifespan. All species eventually go extinct or evolve into something else. We are Homo sapiens. We used to be, most likely, Homo erectus.
This is not in dispute based on what we know so far and there is no conspiracy. New evidence may be found that changes that belief or consensus. A scientific theory is not a conspiracy. It's a reasonable conclusion drawn from evidence. New evidence may change the conclusion but that doesn't make it a conspiracy.
As far as climate changing causing human extinction goes, there is a difference between recognizing that it's a very real possibility, which it is, and making wild speculative claims.
We ARE at the beginning of a a mass extinction event. We ARE an apex species. Apex species and keystone species tend to be the first ones to go in a mass extinction event. That's history. Not conspiracy. Most species won't make it through the bottleneck. The Cambrian extinction wiped out 90% of life.
We are also one of the most adaptable species this planet has ever known. Unlike other species, or brain capacity makes us able to respond with things like technology and foresight that other species don't have. None of the other species have had. We might make it, especially if we use the tools at our disposal to our advantage.
That's what Jessica Wildfire is saying. That's all she's been saying.
If you were actually reading her, you would know that.
In what reasonable, measured thought process is that a conspiracy?
I have to conclude here that either you don't know what a conspiracy is and are using the word inappropriately, your reading comprehension skills are subpar and you can't handle the material, you're basing your opinion of their work after what other people have said trashing them instead of reading and deciding for yourself meaning you're regurgitating gossip, you're into a lot of climate denial material and are just wildly misinformed, or you just don't like her tone because she's a woman (and he's brown) and you're all up in your feels because you feel like you're being scolded so you're maligning them both by calling them conspiracy theorists.
I can't be sure which it is. But Max, if it's that last one... no rational, thinking person will be convinced that your feelings make a conspiracy. You delegitimize your own work by making such salacious claims, especially ones with no basis in reality.
