I don't mind being ignored by the algorithm as a writer, I'm a casual writer after all. Not really looking to churn out content for the sake of content or being a content creator.

I don't want to feel wrong footed by the algorithm. I get the feeling like the human editor layer will do exactly that because humans are going to human. And we're biased in a lotta lotta ways.

As a reader though, the algorithm is a pain. This new editorial layer is also going to be problematic there. I think I'm going to be spending far more time curating my feed because of it. I think I'll be reading less, which is sad because I'm a heavy reader. I spend a lot of time in comments which boosts writers and drives engagement. It's very possible I even help make better writers too because I often come to comments with a 'take no prisoners' style. If you have the sad misfortune to get my attention enough for me to start stalking you (haha), you're arguments will improve because they'll have to.

I read Stubblebine's comments btw and responded to one of them. Looks like you're getting the standard corporate blow off, as expected.
