I don’t know about that. It’s a matter of degrees, not all bullying is equal.
We need to keep in mind that some bullying by kids today leads to suicide attempts, can and should land you on the sex offender registry, or is a federal felony.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that given her response because everyone knows there’s going to be blowback from picking on a cancer kid, that if this was retribution, the incident that inspired it wasn’t making fun of her clothes or grades. It was something much more severe and catastrophic.
I think a lot of the criticism toward Dad is that he doesn’t seem to care what led up to the hair incident. He’s taking a hard line that NO MATTER WHAT she was in the wrong and has to pay. That’s not good or effective discipline. You can listen to what led your kid to the decisions they made and still teach them that it was a wrong or bad move without losing or abusing the trust of your kids.
His choice to make thisnhard line stance means not knowing if his kid is in jeopardy and facing something she doesn’t know how to handle.
