I don't disagree that her article is harmful to the feminist movement. I don't disagree that it's factually inaccurate and misreporting.

My point is so are misogynistic articles written by men, articles written by pro-lifers, articles by gun rights activists, gun control advocates, climate change deniers, climate change advocates, just about anything and everything on here.

I don't disagree that there should be more integrity in writing personal essays and that they shouldn't be hit pieces.

But. Protecting the right of free speech has been placed above integrity and truth. I'm not saying that's morally right, or that I'm a proponent of that thinking entirely. I do believe free speech is important. But I'm more of a mind that truth should be at least equally footed.

I'm just saying that free speech primacy is what has been collectively decided by the PTB, and pieces like this one and the damage they do is a consequence of that choice.
