I don't color my hair. I like my natural color. But, if I chose to color my hair I shouldn't have to pay more because I'm a woman.

I can see how a business could charge more for long hair. It takes longer and it requires more product. But not all women have long hair and not all men have short hair. Pricing should be based on hair length if that's the justifications not gender.

I was once at one of those unisex barber shop/salon places getting a basic trim and wash. At the time, my hair was scraping the tops of my shoulders in a simple style. There's this Fabio looking dude with long hair down to the middle of his back there getting a wash and some kind of treatment. I don't remember what but it was involved. He was already in the chair when I arrived.

Anyways, I got put in the chair beside him after waiting about 2ó minutes and we ended up being finished at about the same time and I ended up standing behind him in line to pay.

I don't remember how much it cost, but I don't remember my bill was $15 more than his even though my service took less time and did not use any product other than shampoo and conditioner.

I remember thinking, "you've got to be kidding me."

No. I did not patronize that business again. I realize that in your eyes, the problem is solved.

Bullshit.

I shouldn't have to pay more for the same service based on nothing but gender any more than you should.

It shouldn't be a thing. It shouldn't be shrugged off. It shouldn't be widespread. It shouldn't be acceptable.

It affects you too. When you allow one group to be price gouged based on some cockamamie reasoning by businesses, especially ones that have industry agreements to set prices instead of competing in a true open market, you are consenting to have the same thing done to you on some other product or service for equally cockamamie reasons.
