I do believe there's something to the prefrontal cortex argument, but I think it's both widely misunderstood and over played.
This article, like many articles about gender dynamics is problematic in that it ignores emotional harm to men.
It's pretty telling that they get blamed for the damage done to her, but she is not for the damage she did to them. Both sides made their choice to self harm. To expose themselves. She made a number out those men. She dehumanized them to do it.
They did the same.
It doesnt matter that all parties agreed to it as far as effect goes. The effect is still one of emotional exploitation for all parties involved.
Sex is a pillar, a foundation, of our species' social bonds, and therefore our emotional well bei g and sense of community. It should never be treated so cheaply or with such casual disregard, regardless of one's gender. To do so, is playing with fire on so many levels.
