I disagree with that. I see what you're saying, and on a societsl level or amongst other men, that might be true.
However, so etines we need to prove things to ourselves. Or reenforce things that societal narratives have made us cagey or insecure about to ourselves. It seems counterintuitive, but many people report connecting with certain aspects of themselves in new and iften stronger eays by exploring the opposite with openness and courage.
I think it's unwise to discount that. This is HIS lived experience. He's telling us that he feels like his masculinity is validated by wearing skirts and heels. This is actual lives experience. It's not some kind of a shine on or a conflated grievance or something. He's being real here, real -for real.
Let's not be hypocrits here. Let's listen.
