I disagree for the most part, except maybe Buttigeg for Transportation secretary. That one did seem a bit odd. That said, he’s intelligent, learns quickly, is ambitious, a bit of a dreamer in a thoughtful kind of way, and he wants to make a difference. So I’ll wish him well and hope he’s able to step up.

As for the others mentioned, I think they’ll do well and I think it’s about time we had a cabinet that better reflected America. It’s not always about individual positions. It’s more important to have a solid strong team than any one superstar or the most ‘qualified' on paper. There are other considerations beyond identity too. Things like teamwork, personal philosophy in line with national direction, expertise in a particular area, dual expertise, can you lead, can you inspire, thinking outside the box, can you do more with less resources, are you good with data review of policies and presenting that to Congress or the public, and so forth and so on.

Let’s not pretend these picks, even Buttigeg are anywhere near as questionable or disastrous as what we’ve been through the past 4 years. Give them all a fair chance to sink or swim before we drag out our rakes and sharpen our claws. In the end, we elected him and it’s his cabinet, his choice; and they serve at his pleasure, not ours.
