I disagree. We all need to be calling out the behavior and the lemmings who go along. More vociferously.

It's exactly the same dynamic that leads to fascism, mass murders, riots, etc.

If you have to hurt someone's feelings to rattle them to their senses, sometimes that's the best thing.
