I didn't say violence was due to schizophrenia and schizophrenia alone.

I also very clearly said that most schizophrenics we're not violent.

But to answer your question, one of my daughter's friend's mother was schizophrenic. She hallucinated demons. One night, she came running over to our house for safety because her mother stabbed her in the arm with s fork.

There used to be a writer on here who's mother was schizophrenic and tried to kill her when she was a teenager.

This guy I used to ride the bus with attacked some other passengers one day at the stop he got off at. Schizophrenia.

This schizophrenic I worked with tried to set the flammables cage on fire one day.

And there are others. Even children, though it's extremely rare for schizophrenia to manifest before adulthood.

I'm not saying these people don't suffer or that it's their fault. I'm saying that it's not all one way or the other. Most of them are not dangerous. Some of them are. Were not doing them or ourselves any favors if we don't hold space for both truths.

And by the way, some of those people were people of color. Schizophrenia can affect anyone and has a genetic component to it.

And no. You don't need to have schizophrenia to be violent. I never said that. Anyone can be violent at any time, either reactively or out of greed, fear, anger, sexual stimulation, whatever.
