I did not say it was innate understanding. You are incorrect in your statement that men and women's knowledge of abortion is equal.

It is clearly not. Women learn about abortion because they may have to have one or they know someone who has had one. Men choose to not be curious about women's bodies and learn about them. Many men find female reproduction gross and disgusting. They actively avoid it. Ergo, the average lay woman's knowledge of abortion is generally far superior to the average lay man who still does not even know that women do not pee from their vaginas or that the reason for different sizes of tampons is NOT because vaginas come in different sizes.

Also, we're talking about general knowledge. I don't have to be able to perform a prostate exam to have general knowledge of what a prostate is, where it's located, why it's so important to men's health care, or when a man might need to be concerned enough to go be examined.

Lastly, I can assure you that having had a child I am very well versed in pregnancy and possible pregnancy complications that might require an abortion as most women are once they have a child.

It is very much a gendered issue. Most women know. Most men don't. Not really.
