I did not know that about Islam. Both Mohammed and John Calvin had authoritarian tendencies and were somewhat militant of thought though. It’s pretty clear neither one of them had a problem with butchering thousands to gain and keep control or position.

On top of all of that, Calvin was just spiteful. Like, in a sociopathic sense. You start reading up on his history outside of Baptist theologists who idolize him as a savior of the faith, or whatever, and the level of spite this man had and the lengths he went to to level revenge for (his perception of) being slighted will make your skin crawl.

Like I said, fruit from a poisoned tree.
