I did not address my comment to Michael and his article, but to you and your comment.

You said, "With the possible exception of a sub-Saharan woman with a clay water pot on her head walking to and from the nearest water hole, I cannot think of one person on the planet who walks five hours per day, or has walked five hours in one day since they were in their teens or twenties (of course, anyone in their teens or twenties today will NEVER walk five hours in a day unless being chased by a slow-moving zombie)."

This is a ridiculous comment. It's clear from the snark that you really meant Americans and Westerners despite referring to the whole planet.

Even so. It's ridiculous on the face of it, so I gave a partial list of Americans who routinely walk several miles a day.

It doesn't matter why they're doing it. If the context is fitness in harsh circumstances, what matters is that you have the ability/skill; not how you got it or whether or not you were paid for attaining it. It's completely irrelevant.

In point of fact, if one happened to be someone who is limited from attaining these fitness goals by time, and I think most reasonable people can agree that we cannot miraculously add more hours to the day, then a change in career to one that makes the list of significant time walking would be a way of achieving that fitness goals.

The fact is many people steugfle with fitness because they're too tired, malnourished, overworked, and time poor to focus on it. It does take resources to be fit, even if you're using milk jugs and 2 litter bottles as your weight training equipment.

Your snark, degrading mockery, and clear contempt for the struggling masses is not going to change that salient fact. All it does is befoul the space with entitled, bullying, bullshit opinions that need not be said. What was the point? What did you add to the conversation other than calling attention to yourself by undermining someone trying to be helpful who you claim is a friend?

Jeez, dude. That's the measure of your friendship? Putting your baseless opinions on a pedastel above everything else? With friends like you, who needs enemies?

You missed a golden opportunity to shut the hell up and be quiet on that one.
