I can vouch for this. If you’ve got a partner who is actually partnering you’re better off than going it alone. But, if they’re dead weight, you’re worse off than going it alone. Further, as your children get older, they’ll pick up their father’s poor behavior and you’ll find yourself being the servant to a pack of entitled brats (including the “father") who don’t give a shit about you and just abuse you and take advantage of you. You’ll be drowning and they’ll be laughing at you and shoving you back under all while bitching that their favorite shirt is still in the laundry.

But you might get a card and taken out for Mother’s Day. That’s the trade.

Can’t tell you how much I saw this play out amongst the mom’s of my daughter’s playmates. They’re walking around like zombies they’re so tired, and every single one of them thanking their lucky stars they’re not a single mom. Un-fucking-real.
