I believe the focus on KJV is to narcotize believers. They get hung up on the language and zone out. When you put it in plainer English, or modern English....all of a sudden you've got questions to answer and contradictions that need to be resolved. People in spiritual crisis tend to fall away from the church.

My thoughts on the hair pearl clutching is that it's about two things. An outward sign of belonging and a response to liberal gender questioning. It is conservative religions who are balking over the reexamination of gender tropes. For them, men are men and women are women, you're one or the other and never shall the two combine. Men do this and look like that and women do this other and look like that other.

Culturally, male circumcision is falling out of favor as a practice and marker of faith. Fortifying the hair deal may be a subconscious attempt to replace that marker of faith. I might be reaching on that, but if it's part of it....you just HAVE TO love the irony there.
