I apply it across the board so don’t be a jackass. I strongly believe any act of malfeasance by politicians and leaders should be dealt with in the harshest of terms. But, it shouldn’t be political, there should be an investigation, it should be laid out for the public, there should be a fair trial.
But no, people should not be punished for electing someone who does not do what they elected them to do anymore than a business owner should be punished if an employee steals from customers. Where will that lead? Nowhere good.
Specifically, I was talking about all the people who are being kept up all night in Ottawa from honking horns for 3 days straight, and all the people on both sides of the border who depend on that bridge for supplies of food and medicine and for their livlihood.
Are you saying people should endure starvation or have their lives endangered so you can protest? Should protestors not be culpable for depraved heart murders for anyone who dies because that bridge is shut down? I mean, you’re willing to throw voters in jail because you don’t like Trudeau…. ?? Have you thought about that?
See what I mean about where that goes?
I support their right to protest. I believe their particular choice of protest was petty, vindictive, not well thought out, and a bad call. Protests should call attention to the public as well as the govt and hopefully be conducted in a fashion that the public will become more aware of the issue and take your side over the govt. They’ll start making different decisions at the polls. Politicians will take up the cause or risk losing elections.
You’re not making any friends from either politicians or the public by shutting down bridges. It was a bad call and a stupid move. Pure and simple.
