I already knew how to sew too. And knit. Took me a while to get to crochet.

For woodworking I built a bat house. For masonry, I made a pizza oven as a group project. For welding, I worked on an airplane with the local EAA. I had family who were members. Years later they got with a shop class to build a kid sized flight trainer but I was in college by then.
