I agree. That's a huge part of it. Constant supervision and activity. When I was young, we spent most of the day outside and didn't come home till dark, dark-thirty. Mom had time to do whatever she wanted. Dad helped out with getting us organized for bed when he got home, all those little nightie chores.

That said, schools need to change too. All these ridiculous projects, mom ends up doing them.
