I agree that it’s pointless and unproductive to tell them what they should do.

I disagree that doing so is why they don’t trust us. They’ve never trusted us. They haven’t trusted us long long before this current wave of romantic fixation in women. They will continue to not trust us long after this wave of romantic expectations has passed and we’re on to the next thing, whatever it is.
