hubris and greed?

Wow. Try desperation and hunger.

This didn’t happen deliberately. It was an accident. It wasn’t at more deliberate than smallpox. Nobody blames Africa for that. That would be foolish.

Viruses jump species on occasion. It happens when species interact with each other. Covid isn’t the first, it won’t be the last. We have to share the world with other living things. Nobody can help that. We can help how we respond when a viral jump occurs.

That’s why “every day" people are being 'blamed’. They’re acting irresponsibly. They’re increasing risk for everyone and not just humans. Not just from a health perspective either.

I get what you’re saying about capitalism and our systemic problems and all that. That’s not really something you want to end overnight though. It would be like falling from the Empire State Building vs walking down several flights of slippery stairs, slowly, with others to help you down and safety gear.
