How's it weird that a responded to a specific example that you gave? Nowhere in doing so did I suggest or claim that was the only standard. It was an example.
I did make a snarky-ish statement to the effect that I was well familiar with the door paradox. But that doesn't mean it's only about the door. It's just that we're all familiar with the goddamned door. It's a recognition that it was a good representative example.
That's weird? What?
You seem to have gotten wrapped up in the door paradox again. You missed the part about how the door paradox affects women too. It's not just something women do to men.
It also shows how goalposts shift for women too. Which is true. I'm gonna stick my neck out on behalf of all women everywhere and say yes, we agree with you men. The constantly shifting goalposts are fucking annoying.
Can someone please stop the merry-go-round from hell? Pretty please? Man, woman, or other, were all sick to death of the wandering goal posts.
So tired. And frustrated.
And so ebody bring us a mint chocolate chip and ginger ale ice cream float and our Urchling and green again HellHound. We need solace and self care.
I stand by what I said. Women don't set standards. All of society does. Conversely, it's not Men who set the standards that tend to drive me to distraction either. It's still All of society.
Are women part of that dynamic for you? Yep. Are feminists? Yep again. Not all of each group, but as these folks are part of society at large, by logical inference we must accept that some of their number are contributing actors.
Are men part of that dynamic for me? Yep. Are MRAs? Yep again. Not all of each group, but as these folks are part of society at large, by logical inference we must accept that some of their number are contributing actors.
And that's why we need to ground ourselves with confidence so all the noise doesn't sweep away our peace of mind in a tide of noise, chaos, and confusion. That's our fix. We have to know who we are and be okay with ourselves enough to resist the pressure.
Did you like how I circled back around to the point about confidence? That was pretty good, huh? That's our focus, not the damned door. Forget the door...were down the hall now.
