I'm not really seeing that. I won't speak to the men part, but as far as women go...

We're not a monolith but I'm seeing more of:

Women want men to be something that most of them have no desire to be. For the ones that will be what women want, there's simply not enough to go around. For the others, your choices are either to settle and make do with what's available, of which many try or to go it alone, which is scary and carries a lot of societal blowback and constant fucking shaming for being independent.

So basically, you either get really lucky and get what you want and are then smart and savvy enough to hold on to it or you find yourself making the same age old choice: the choice of Eve or the choice of Lilith.

It seems to me that more and more women are choosing freedom over the boot on their neck.
