High school, work, church, sisters of boyfriends, pretty much every day life. That bit wasn't meant to be directed specifically at your group. But even on TikTok and other social media when most women talk about politics or even math theorems, they're doing so while doing makeup. You're being disingenuous if you think this isn't true.
And no, I don't have a chip on my shoulder per se. The fact of thr matter is, I like these expressions of femininity too. I love the creativity behind makeup and I follow a lot of different women here and on TikTok from all walks. It's just not something I want done to me or have it insinuated that I'm not "doing womanhood right" because I'm no into those things. I don't enjoy being referred to as "masculine" or "soft masc" for not wearing makeup. I live in Arizona and I'm out a lot. That means I sweat. Then that shit runs and gets in my eyes. Its gross. It's not a political statement that I don't wear makeup either, it's a matter of practicality. If I have a chip, it's that everyone else tries to make it one.
Also, it didn't used to be this way. I'm old enough to remember that there didn't used to be this constant pressure about it.
Also, I'm a conventionally attractive woman. 5'7". 135 to 140 lbs. 36D. Dark blind/honey brown hair. Blue/green hazel eyes. Soft heart-shaped face. Classic hourglass. Athletic. I've got biker's butt and skater's thighs (if you know, you know).
It gets old having so many people who cal themselves friend take it upon themselves to fix you because they see you as a waste of good material just because you decided not to go through life trussed up like a Christmas goose for the "benefit" of the male gaze when, clearly, they don't notice anyway. Cause they're still flocking like barflies.
