This emphasized what I have been telling her so I appreciate the back up.
My Papa gave my Grandma an allowance. That money was hers to do with as she pleased. She saved most of it and then spent it after 40 years of marriage.
My other Grandma gave my Papa an allowance out of his salary because she was in charge of the finances. Urchling wanted me to tell you how Grandma divvied up thr bacon. He never complained and they got to do a whole lot more becuse of her exquisite financial management than their peers. Bought a trailer and travelled across the country for years. Built their dream retirement home. He didn't make a large salary; he worked a blue collar job. Of course, things were better for workers then. But still. They managed to do a lot more than their peers with what they had.
