He’s not being crucified. Let’s not catastophize being asked to defend and expand your argument with being tortured to death via a spite execution.

These women are making a good and valid point. You men are dodging and acting all fragile [again], like petulant little toddlers who can’t handle a mild critique.

There’s nothing wrong with the activities he mentioned. They build confidence and teach skills. They allow you to develop. They do the same thing for women.

There are other activities he could have mentioned but didn’t. Things that will develop survival skills, build self confidence, and develop you more into a full human being. Things like cooking, textile crafts, taking care of children and elders.

It’s interesting that he left those things off, don’t you think? It’s like he’s suggesting that one set of activities is for one gender and the other is for the opposite.

Like, if you want to be "a man", you have to choose group A and be good at them. Or you’re not a "real" man. By extension, you must deny those things to your opposite, no matter the damage that causes. And their subset of activities will lose value because they are unworthy of consideration to a MAN and beneath meaningful manhood.

Next thing you know, there will be laws put in place to make sure everyone stays in their box. These things follow a particular path if left unchecked; it’s as old as time itself.

Then either the author or another commenter says, "there’s a breakdown in communication between genders and no one knows why".

Well, that’s just not true. Half or more of us know why. It’s because you can’t pigeonhole human experience, desire, or thought like that, call it 'natural' and think that things are going to go well. Nobody likes living in someone else’s Matrix.

I’m sure by this point your turning red and raging so I’ll come back around to a final point.

If you think being asked to think critically through your own thought process or (God forbid) consider another perspective is anywhere on par with being hoisted up on a cross, having spikes driven through your hands and feet and/or having both your legs broken and then left to die a slow, miserable, excruciating death exposed to the elements... you’ll never be a real man. You’ll never even be a real boy, you’re doomed to stay a puppet being jerked around by strings -- singing jaunty little ditties with a smile painted on your face.

You be careful who you hand those strings to. Nobody cares when a puppet gets burned.
