Men have never trusted us, so this isn't exactly breaking news or some upswelling negative sentiment we need to concern ourselves with.

If men trusted us, they never would have felt the need to control us. They wouldn't keep us under the panopticon of constantly being watched and scrutinized. You wouldn't constantly be going out of your way to correct us in our performance of femininity and tell us all about our womanhood every time you get some kind of way about your feelings. You wouldn't struggle so much between the speech and actions of an individual and the general sentiment or nature of our group. You wouldn't other us.
