Hard to say how things will go in the end… too many variables.

I do not think that anyone on either side really wants a civil war, unlike a lot of far right commentary here saying it’s the left that is clamoring for it. I don’t think that’s true at all. There is a difference between seeing a thing as a possibility, maybe even an inevitability, and wanting the thing to come to pass.

A huge difference.

When extremists on one side take over, refuse to play by their own rules all the while using every dirty handed trick in the book to stymy the efforts of the other, you’ve got a problem that needs to be addressed. When the leadership of that side constantly denigrates, criminalizes, invites violence against, and dehumanizes the other side and no one objects you’ve got to see the writing on the wall. When civil discourse between groups is no longer possible things are near an end.

Basically, the far right is ushering in a life that will be no life at all for the majority of the population. At some point, if there is no legal recourse, no hope, no chance for life and dignity you have no choice but to fight back against oppression.

Doesn’t mean you want war and violence. Doesn’t mean you crave it.

You were just left no choice but to fight to live free. Or die trying.
