Haha. Yeah, you gotta keep the splurges modest or you defeat the purpose.

Urchling keeps a tight budget. Don't get me wrong, I'm both grateful and impressed as she just turned 18 last August and she's been in charge since she was 16 of the household budget.

Sometimes splurging is good for us too. Gives us a reason to keep striving toward a long term goal. Kind of like a holiday does for work.

Also I could have been more clear. The "hinting" is that she gave me a lump of "extra" money to do with as I please, without having to account for it.

So yeah, it lands a little bit like a ten year old that found a hundred dollar bill. It's got that giddiness to it. My Papa used to get super giddy when Grandma gave him an extra cash lump sum beyond his usual pocket money for the week. He'd drag me down to the hobby store and we'd be there for hours while he picked himself out some new model trains and stuff.

I am every bit as bad. It's great. 😁

Simple pleasures, am I right?
