Haha. Urchling and I were watching some TikTok and there was one with a couple of Labs running into the yard and jumping into leaf piles whenever a door opened,.scattering them back all over the yard.

Urchling got a case of the giggles. I said "and that's why you got a beagle for your birthday instead of a retriever. They nap. A lot."

We're walking before dawn and we'll after sunset for that reason. The pavement will literally burn her paws. She's turned her belly on the sidewalk a couple of times too.

It's been particularly rough on us too, even though it's not as hot as it was last year. Last year we hit 120°+ during the dog days of summer. This year we've been about 10° cooler on average, but it's been an active monsoon season, so more rain and humidity.

We're not used to the humidity anymore. It's been kicking our asses this year.
