Good theory. I've had a few soeculatikns about the firing. I do think it's possibly tied to the Dominion lawsuit in that him being fired could.have been part of the settlement. Even though he wasn't the main person pessling the Big Lie, he's still the "face" of Fox News. And since Murdoch and the board were in on it up to their eyeballs, settling protects them. So that's still a possibility in my book.

That said, I love your theory too. I didn't see that interview with Megyn Kelly, but she and the others may have grounds to have that gag order lifted if they can prove Fox didn't uphold their end. Breach of contract.
